I got into an apple painting kick. Could you tell? The ones you see here are just a few of the apples I’ve painted. They are as small as 5×5 and as big as 4 feet. It’s not that I’m so into apples, I just started painting them and haven’t stopped. Lately, however, I’ve been painting portraits and am enjoying testing and learning new techniques of oil painting. Next up: some experiments using a palette knife.

My paintings have yet to pay the rent. Shocked? Of course you are! No, no, I still work during the day and don’t mind it a bit. My day job is rather fun as I am immersed in the competitive and ever-changing world of online marketing using Google, Yahoo and other search engines.

Search marketing is an exciting challenge. It’s rare that a web site magically appears in front of a customer.  A great deal of research and online marketing knowledge goes into developing a comprehensive search engine marketing campaign.

I look at SEO through an all-encompassing lens. A single action or element of a website isn’t the key to ranking well and gaining valuable traffic. It’s the overall strategy and well-defined implementation plan that lead to success. I’m currently an in-house senior-level director of Search Engine Marketing and Optimization;  strategizing, evangelizing and splitting my time between companies and offices in New York and Los Angeles.
